Northampton Massachusetts got style and the Fashion Buzz Now was there. Everyone had smiling faces and showed personal style and flair. The Buskers Ball gathered a community of artist, musicians and farmers to share culture, art and inspirations. The streets were full of surprises and happy faces.

The New School to see…….. Scott Schuman & Tim Gunn speak @ Public Media And The Fashioning Of Reality

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Fashion Buzz Now sat in on the panel discussion of Final Cuts, Public Media and The Fashioning of Reality. Scott spoke of what inspired him to pick up a camera “his children” and how becoming a photographer was merely because he liked taking pictures of his kids. He started his blog “Satorialist” in 1995 and its still going strong. One of the most popular blogs to date. Tim Gunn shared his experience of working at Parsons and how he originally turned down the offer to work for Project Runway (now an extremely popular reality TV show) and how the industry has grown since 1994 when he started his career at Parsons until now.

Hazel Clark sat in between and was the go between and knew just the right questions to ask.

Gallery Hopping …….

Monday, May 16th, 2011
Fashion Buzz Now recommends a walk through to The Peter Blum Gallery to see the French Photographer / Filmmaker Chris Marker who took over two hundred photos of straphangers traveling on the Paris Metro. Walking into the gallery you immediately fall prey to images captured by Marker. Each one becoming more intriguing causing you to feel many emotions while scoping out the personality of each one his subjects. One particular picture that stood out in my mind was of an extremely retouched photo of a women standing in a subway car causing me to wonder “what was hiding behind it?”
The layout of this exhibit was open and inviting and easy to navigate your way through a series of emotional photographs.
Right next door at the Sean Kelly Gallery, Robert Mapplethorpe is not one too miss either.
This photographer has been labeled a prolific, controversial contemporary American artists.
And this is visible upon entering the gallery. A must see. www.fashionbuzznow.blogspot.com

I love Happy Smiles!!!!!!

www.fashionbuzznow.blogspot.com

The Fashion Buzz Now ……..is at the Metropolitian Museum where Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty is holding the exhibit. On view are his elaborate, sci-fi, provocative, thought provoking peices which made me think of what beautiful tall alien robots coming to invade earth would look like.
Each room became more and more intriguing to the eye. Some scary, some romantic but
I must say I highly suggest the audio tour for a few dollars to anyone who wants a solid understanding of who “Lee” was about and what his influences were. Shalom Harlow speaks of one of the most interesting performance she did for one his shows. It adds so much more to the exhibit to hear the narrations of his friends and peirs.
Before or after McQueen, Fashion Buzz Now recommends taking a quick look at the “Night Vision: Photograhy After Dark. Some photo’s to look out for were from John Cohen 1960- Tenth St. @ night, Albert Langdon- Broadway @ night ca 1910, Brassai- Big Alberts Gang and many more interesting shots.

BRYANT PARK……….

Friday, May 6th, 2011
Bryant Park is alive and kicking . The park is a photographer’s dream. A place to
bond with my camera and explore Fashion , Style and Personality.
Today the park was filled with personalities at work and at play.

Taking a break under the shade.
This jacket was made for her. What a pretty happy smile!
She knows how to wear a trench coat. Another great smile.
Work was a lovely day at park, doing what they love to do.
Perhaps in a rush for a meeting?
He couldn’t have worn his suit better. Perfect fit. Well done.
A speed game of chess …… anyone?

So there it is…… a wonderful day in the park. People were welcoming as I paced around the park looking for inspiration. A smile here and there. Life was happening at Bryant Park and the Fashion Buzz Now was there : )www.fashionbuzznow.blogspot.com
