Jesper Høvring presented his Autumn Winter 2014 for a celebrity studded, excited crowd at Nimb that acted as an elegant setting for the jaw-dropping beautiful gowns that cemented Jesper Høvring’s status as one of Denmark’s top cotourier with an amazing eye for the art of perfect tailing, fabrics and cut that are fit for a night at the Oscars. Showing one of his strongest collections ever, it is obvious why he is one of the Danish Crown Princess Mary’s chosen designers. And you don’t even have to be a real princess– Jesper Høvring’s dresses are so sophisticated and beautiful they will make nearly every woman who wears them look like a modern princess or film star – straight out of Breakfast at Tiffanys (without the sun glasses).
This collection featured a lot of black, white, dark blue and yellow in thick velvet, lace with sequins, silk and tulle. He showed both long, narrow dresses, dresses with tulip skirts, mini skirts, elegant trousers with tops and long capes covering the décolleté and tight corsages acting as a contrast to the bigger skirts. Especially two yellow dresses draped perfectly over the shoulders caught the attention of the crowd and sent the camera shutters clicking on overtime. Jesper Høvring put the icing on the cake (literally) by finishing off with a long range of white dresses ornamented with lace and sequins. Style wise he took us back from the 50’ies classic movie star style to sixties mini skirts and A-lines and all the way back to the millennium with beautiful embroidered see through black lace and low cut lines showing a lot of skin (and underwear). We can’t wait to see who wears this to the next big event.
